Hello,

Recently I'm worried about security of my website.
I'm begineer of Xoops. So, I don't know technical 'know-how'.

Is there any method of checking the site's security easily for beginners??

I've done these things↓.

1. delete the 'install'File
2. change the property of 'mainfile.php' 644
3. Upgrade the XOOPS latest Version

But, Is that all do I have to do for my site's security??

PS.
Please answer with easy English. Cause, my homeland is not English sphere.

Hello systeome,

Check out the helpful guide on Xoops Tips: Webmaster XOOPS Site Security Guide

Also, check out GiJoes site: http://www.peak.ne.jp/xoops/. He has created XOOPS protector to really secure your site.

Thanks for your reply! Chado.

I think I decipher 'Xoops Tips: Webmaster XOOPS Site Security Guide' maybe.
I'll check it.

And I'll use 'Xoops Protector'.

I read the manual of 'Xoops Protector', and tried to understand.
But is there any difficult point to installing 'Xoops Protector'?

I'm worried about that I could use this module appropriately.

I use Protector. It is very good.

Just follow the instructions and you will be OK. Just make sure that you set a master rescue password in the modules preferences so that you can get back in if you accidentaly lock yourself out of your site.

Last tip - use Internet Explorer to set you master password. I tried to do it with FireFox and it didn't work for some reason.

Other than that, and applying regular XOOPS patches, you should be OK.

Ted
