When editing themes and templates:
Go to System Administration >> Preferences >> System >> General Settings.
Set "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" to "Yes"
Make your changes.
When finished, set "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" to "No"
This will ensure that your changes take effect without the need to delete the files in the templates_c folder. XOOPS will do it for you, if you tell it to.
