Hi,

I tried posting this somewhere else, but got no response, so I'm trying again here!

Anyway, when I get to this nifty page:

SQL Host
SQL Database Name
SQL Username
SQL Password

I can't enter my database info in the fields...I select what's already there, and try typing and...POOF! Nothing! Is there a reason for this, or does it just hate me? lol

Help!

It sounds like a browser issue to me.

Hi,

it seems that I have the same pblm.
The installation (2.0.10) for XP,
doesn't give any problems until
I use "next" (check databes)
on the "confirmation databse" settings.

Emtpy screen......

I'm using Firefox 1.0.3 to browse.

Unitl now I donĀ“t have a solution.

So, I guess nobody knows how to fix this? I'm really frustrated with it...

Re: Install Troubles

1. Do you have mysql-service (on your local XP, yes?) running?
2. Did you create database for XOOPS before installing XOOPS?
3. Did you grant full privileges to on xoops-database?

More detailed information from your side can mean more fast and usefull answer from our side...

"Arrrrgh... nothing works" isn't problem description at all - only full, step-by-step story about all performed steps and procedures can help you

I have everything...I already have a database set up...my problem isn't with the database, though, it's with being able to enter the information into the install page, as I said. It won't allow me to enter or delete anything, as I said.

It's not a browser problem, I've tried it with different browsers and different versions of the browsers.

I just cannot enter my database information on the set up page.

I can't give you a step by step of what's wrong as I can't get beyond step one because I can't enter information.

What server are you running on windows XP?

What version of PHP?

And what version of MySQL?

I'm using Firefox, Netscape and IE on the windows xp home edition. My site's host is bravenet, and our internet provider is Cogeco Cable. Like I said, I'm a little frustrated, so my brain's kinda fried, lol...wasn't sure what you were asking ;) If I didn't answer it there, um...whoops, lol.

Re: Install Troubles

I was assuming that you were installing on windows xp. XOOPS needs at least PHP vesion 4.1/4.2 to run. MySQL at least 3.23 or higher, and apache or IIS. As far as the servers go there are different ways of setting permissions on each platform, basically Windows and Linux differences.

The user that is entered into the fields for the database needs to have full permissions to the database.

Not being able to enter into the fields sounds like a permission problem to me.
