I am looking for a chat module that

(a) allows more than one room
(b) I can open in a page of its own rather than have it appear in the centre column.

Can anyone help?

Have you try the latest version of XOOPSCHAT? I am using the previous version with problems (like encoding change during refresh...)

I don't believe this is true -- you can have unlimited rooms in FlashChat.

I'm running this on a couple of websites. It's easy to install, configure, admin, etc.

Thanks Kristine

I've been to look at flashchat - very impressive

Have you any idea how to integrate it with xoops?

And do you know what the maximum amount of users are?

And the bandwidth usage?

I used it as a standalone script and didn't integrate it with XOOPS because I wanted my users to be able to chat in one window and browse the site in the other.

No, sorry I don't.

Annie,

In the FLASHCHAT documentation there is an easy to follow procedure to integrate it with XOOPS. I have followed it on a couple of occassions with no problems.

Good Luck..!
