go to www.xoops.org/user.php - the block will be back as soon as it is noticed missing

You may have to enable it in :

Admin>System>Blocks

and also

Admin>System>Groups>Anonymous

(check it to show)

xoops.org is configured in a bit of weird way, so some permissions were mixed up (also causing you to be able to start this thread as anonymous)

It should be fixed now and the login block back on the front page.

I thought that person was referring to their own site not xoops.org!

I feel a bit sheepish telling the XOOPS people how to enable the login block, and that's not just coz I'm from New Zealand!
