Some users are having problems uploading a new avatar.
While testing, I have encountered the error myself.

ERROR:
Errors Returned While Uploading

SITE SPECS:
Image Dimensions: 500 X 600
Max Image Size (Bytes) 75000

NEW AVATAR SPECS:
Filename: grandma.JPG
Image Dimensions: 325 X 450
Image File Size: 36.26k

PERMISSIONS:
public_html/uploads: CHMOD 777

Soooooo....... WHAT DO YOU THINK IS HAPPENING?????

Whenever I post support questions it takes a long time to get a response. Am I posting my questions in the wrong places or what?

No, you are posting in the right place. It is just a matter of someone knowing the answer coming along. A polite bump every once in a while (as you just did) will help.

ahh thank you...

That is not the same error, but this is most annoying!! There was some thought as to the file extension not working.

i don't mean to step on rajaito's thread and will start a new one if that's what is proper, just let me know. but this is driving me crazy.

i'm using XOOPS 2.0.10 hosted by Yahoo (god they suck). when trying to upload a 64 x 46 png at 4.5kb i get the error "Errors Returned While Uploading
File not found"

when i try to upload a 45 x 45 gif 1.85kb i get the error
"Sorry, you don't have the right to edit this user's info."

the last one seems particularly odd as i'm trying to do this as webmaster. grasping at straws i uploaded a fresh version of mimetypes.inc.php in case it was corrupt, but no luck.

wonder if my host is screwing me up? is rajaito hosted also?

(bump)

I'm not a programmer and I'm having no success with this problem. I'm just using a link to the avatar in the signature. Crude, but I don't know what else to do. Google has been no assistance.

Last cry for help...

hi everybody....

okay I got this damn error too. It tells me the following

Errors Returned While Uploading
Unknown filetype rejected
MIME type not allowed: image/jpeg

regardeless which type of picture i use.

The picture fullfills the specs (jpg / less then 100k) made by myself in the admin´s area.

I do NOT understand why it complains.

I use XOOPS 2.10.

Thanks, Rainer

Okay. Got it. The Extension .JPG doesn´t work. it has to be .jpg (small letters)
