Hi all, me again

After much thought, I decided to go with the newbb 2 forum as I had the old 1.4.thingy and have used phpbb for many years now. I uninstalled the old one in my control panel of XOOPS and deleted the whole /modules/newbb directory from my ftp account.

uploaded the new newbb 2 and went into the system admin > modules section, there it was listed with Polls, News etc etc.. I click it and it asked for confirmation
(BIG greensplit screen)
and it said DO YOU WANT TO INSTALL THIS? yes or no, I clicked YES and it says...

Installing NewBB 2.0

Table 'xoops_bb_categories' already exists

Unable to install newbb. Error(s):

Any help please?..

go in phpmyadmin and drop down that table!after that optimize and install again newbb and will not have the problem again!

Do you mean the phpmyadmin in my hosts cpanel?..

you can use the phpmyadmin from your cpanel or as a module on XOOPS and directly access your database!and be sure you drop just that table and not the all the tables in your database!

lol... now it's telling me 'xoops_bb_forums' is already there... I do the same thing again I guess!

Are you sure you will throw away all your old posts?
If yes, just delete all "xoops_bb_..." tables.

What if I just drop everything that is xoops_bb_XXX
XXX being the _post , _forum_posts etc etc etc..??

sorry phppp., I ment I have used the phpBB forum now for many years, this forum on XOOPS I have just got, so I haven't any topics or post other then the test one.


Sorry again for the double post?.. not sure what happened there! LOL..
YES!!!! have done it now aswell guys(& girls if any).. thanks for all your help.
