xcGallery Problem

I have just installed xcGallery but the only part that seems to work is setting the preferences. Trying to change the group settings keeps reverying back to the defaults when the apply button is pressed. Also I can't create categories, when I press update no category is inserted.

I have admin rights for the module.

It seems to work for me. Have you tried it under a webmaster account?

The biggest problem for me is that the module devel seems to be dead. I've never heard otherwise so I'm not using it. Too bad, it could be a great image module.

The only account on the system at the moment is the webmaster account.

Does other modules work ok?
Have you tried removing and reinstalling the module?
maybe the changes wont go into the database?
does thwe webserver have the rights needed to do its stuff?

The other modules seem to work OK but I've really only done cursory testing of them.

Yes, I've tried reinstalling several times. I agree that the changes don't seem to go into the database. But I can install modules and modify my user account so I think the server has the correct access rights, but I am new to PHP and MySql so it is still possible the access rights are incorrect.
