When posting a new article, I try to upload a file with it, but keep getting: Error while uploading the file .

Any thoughts ?

Everything else seems to be working fine.

AMS 2.6? Interesting. The latest version is 2.41 and 2.6 exists only in the mind of Brash at the moment.

Try enabling PHP debug and try again - note any error messages.

That one... :p I was modifying a few other systems, and one of them had a version 2.6 of a mod running...

I'll try the debug thing now.

Nope, no erros beyond : Error uploading file

(unless any errors are save to a file somewhere that I should be checking).

EDIT: also tried making the folders for the mod write enabled for all (temporarily of course), but still no go.

Didn't think I'd done any work on AMS recently, must be just more efficient thatn I thought.....not!

Anywau, a few things to check;

1) Are uploads enabled in the AMS preferences area, and do you ahve approver & submitter priviledges when submitting your article?

2) Does the webserver have write permissions to the upload directory in your XOOPS root?

3) Are files uploads enabled in your PHP environment, and is the file you're uploading under the maximum size allowed?

4) What file format are you trying to upload?

5) Do you have any PHP error logging enabled, and if so can you have a look and post relevant info here.

6) What OS / webserver are you using, and what versions? Versions for MySQL, PHP and XOOPS might be handy too.

1) Yes, I've set it so that webmaster can do everything (plus, the article itself loads fine, but the file does not). I've upped the max file size as well, so that shouldn't be an issue.

2) Yes. chmod = 777 on that folder.

3) As far as I'm aware, yes. I have a few other mods that require file uploads

4) I've tried just simple .txt and .doc

5) I turned it on, but couldn't see any particular errors on the page (should I be looking in logs somewhere?)

6)
OS = Linux (not sure what distro)
Web server = Apache 1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP = 4.3.10
MySQL = 4.0.23-standard
xoops = 2.0.9.2

not sure what is going on here. I'll try and get a look at it in the coming week.
