news module doesnt show news

hello, i set up a XOOPS site, everything is good

ok problems with news,

i made all the topics and everything, but when i post news i only see them in archive and in the block on my main page, like recent news, but when i click on the link news nothing is there. and when i click on the news article from the recent news block it opens the module and everything but it seems like i didnt put in any writing into the news.

can someone please help coz i really need a news module as soon as possible

and i installed the module "news2" and it does the same thing

Check your view permissions in the News Module settings. Also check the module access permissions in System Admin - Groups.

yep both of those r good ectually there is no option in the news module to set the permisions only in the site like system admin groups but in the groups it all set good
if the permisions werent set then it would say
that i dont have permisions 2 see it

I would then suggest ugrading to the latest version of the news module which does give better control.

ok can ill try that i am doing it now can someone help me with the xmemberstats module/block it used 2 work good like not really had heaps of problems but then i fixed it somehow everything was working good untill now it doesnt show the flags i dont know what theproblem is can some help

Hi again. A new topic deserves a new thread, otherwise nobody may look.

I assume that you are using the latest version from XOOPS Maylaysia.

Check your database and see if you have this table:

_iptoc

It contains all the flags for that module. About 53000 records.

If it is not there, you either do not have the latest version, or you have not run the install script.

ok i installed the news last version

and the articles seem to work i still dont see anything when i go into the news section
and i get this error when i try to set up the latest news block in the main page

OK, tell me if I am wrong. You had to do the following:

1. Upload the new News files.
2. Run the update script.
3. Update the modules in the modules admin.
4. Update your templates if you use cloned templates.

Is that pretty much the way you did the upgrade?

ok man sorry i didnt run the update script my bad
see the problem is i just fix one thing and i get another problem like the member stats

but ill try to fix it my self

and thanks a lot for the news problem

One other thing you can check on your memberstats problem is go to the Blocks Admin Page, Find the block, click on edit all the way to the right on the list, and make sure that the settings are correct there.
