Xoops and Safe Mode on?

Apologies for not knowing this by now, but I just realised my dev site is running on a server with safe mode off. Will XOOPS run o.k. with safe mode on? Particularly concerned about image uploads etc. Couldn't find a definitive system requirement anywhere.

We recommend that safe mode is on. If you experience problems due to that, we should change things so it works.

Thx Mithrandir. I have had no problems with safe-mode off up to now.

I'm not surprised as safe mode = off is less restrictive, but can also be exploited if you are unlucky.

Safe mode should be on in a shared environment and XOOPS should work with safe mode turned on.
