Hi,
Please help, I don't want to have Login at the front page, i want to create a link instead to the login system user.php (to hide the text boxes, login button, etc).

I tried to do this: "Login" links to user.php, but after clicking the USER LOGIN button, i end up seeing the Apache page. Please help me troubleshoot.

Well, you can got to your Admin Module and select blocks and make login invisible to get it off the page. Not sure how to help you with the other part, though.

thanks, centaurmyst --

I was able to work-around the problem by devoting 1 tinycontent(0) and displaying the login box there. then "restricted section" only appears on another tinycontent(9). This isn't an elegant solution but it fits my needs.

Could you not simply hide the "Login" block in admin_menu>system_admin>blocks and then add this linkhttp://www.yourdomain.com/user.php to wherever you want to display the link??

I think that is what you are after.

Marty.

Hi pnppcs,
thanks, but I still need Login, but wish to make it inconspicuous from the "homepage" -- that is why i devoted one page of one tinycontent module and displayed the login block from there.

Hi There,

I am a major Newbie so please bear with me. I am trying to learn more about XOOPS by reading and just playing with my own site...themes, modules etc. That said tonight I seem to have hidden my login through the contol panel options. Now when I go to the site everything except a couple boxs are hidden so I can not even login to change the settings. Does this site need to be reset or is there a way I can get in? Thanks in advance and if this is a dumb question sorry.

Hi sherwinb,
you can go to the admin.php by the web address on your localhost machine -http://yourservername/yourdirectory/modules/system/admin.php

from there you can display the login again.
