All, Forgive my ignorance, but I can not fnd anywhere talk about how to remove module completely and how to upgrade a module to a new version.

are these the right steps:

To remove:
1. deactive
2. Uninstall
3. Remove the directory under module directory

To upgrade
1. deactive
2. Uninstall
3. Copy all files again to the same directory
4. install

Thanks in advance !

you are correct in removing the modules.

for upgrading, in most cases what you need to do is (you don't need to deactivate and uninstall):
1) copy the newer version to the directory (replacing the current one) and 2) hit the 'update' button (the install button will change to update, once you install a module). it's that simple. [in some cases: you need to run the upgrade script, to update the table structure, etc. - read the upgrade doc included in the module for this ]

No to upgrade do not deactivate, uninstall

Yes copy all files into directory and just update. There may be slight variations to this they are explained in the modules readme.txt files usually. Carefully read the instructions before upgrading.

If you uninstall when you are just wanting to upgrade all of you data will be lost.
