Hi,

I know the topic is similar to the XOOPS FAQ about moving a site, but this is a little more complicated...or less...but it's different nonetheless.

I have a XOOPS site currently set up in a subdomain. I now want to move it to it's own domain.

I had issues setting the site up to begin with. It refused to install under the domain (something about only one install per domain/directory/whatever even though there was nothingin the directory), so out of frustration i tried under the subdomain (of another domain, still same folder) and it worked. This is after having uninstalled a fairly messed up PostNuke install.

I tried changing the URL in the mainsite.php, but this only made my site not work at all. I changed it back and now it is working again under the subdomain.

Can someone help please?

hello meldra, welcome to XOOPS and XOOPS community
for change your subdomain site to your main domain just copy all files in ROOT and edit mainfile.php and change virtual path
and do you see this faq?
How do I move my site from one server to another?

irmtfan,

I want the site to stay in the subdomain and be accessible also by the subdomain.

I already did try changing the virtual path. It only broke the site.

I have. It still shows the url as the subdomain. I want it to show as the domain.

Well, I think I'll just uninstall and try from the start again, because the site is now messed up...Nothing shows up with the domain or subdomain now.
