Newbb 2.02 Help Please

I have searched and can not find the answer to my question.

How do you go from Newbb 1 to Newbb 2.02 without loosing all posts already created? I have been running XOOPS for about 1 year now and just upgraded from 2.0.6 to 2.0.9.2. I want to upgrade the forums and don't want to loose post counts and posts, can this be done?

This is what I think I should do, rename the current newbb folder so that it is not lost. upload the newbb2 folder into the modules folder and install just like any other module. Will this work? and not overwrite everything?

If you don't want to loose your posts, you have to run the update script.

what is this? where do I find it? and when do I run it? before or after I move everything over?

1. Make a Buckup
2. Delete all files in your newbb folder
3. copy new files into the newbb folder
4. Run Update script ( can befound in the folder update )
5. Update the Module in the Moduleadmin
6. If you use a cloned Templates set delete the Templates for the forum and generated them new
7. Be sure the <{$xoops_module_header}> is in your Theme
8. Set permissions for Categories and forums
