hi there ... another one of my banner/header problems.

This time I want my banner/header to be fixed at the top of the page. So when I browse my forum or other site content you can keep seeing the ads and menu.

So I figured out I had to edit my theme.html to look like this
DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<
html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="<{$xoops_langcode}>" lang="<{$xoops_langcode}>">
<
head>
<
meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=<{$xoops_charset}>" />
<
meta http-equiv="content-language" content="<{$xoops_langcode}>" />
<
meta name="robots" content="<{$xoops_meta_robots}>" />
<
meta name="keywords" content="<{$xoops_meta_keywords}>" />
<
meta name="description" content="<{$xoops_meta_description}>" />
<
meta name="rating" content="<{$xoops_meta_rating}>" />
<
meta name="author" content="<{$xoops_meta_author}>" />
<
meta name="copyright" content="<{$xoops_meta_copyright}>" />
<
meta name="generator" content="XOOPS" />
<
title><{$xoops_sitename}>-<{$xoops_pagetitle}>title>
<
link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="<{$xoops_url}>/xoops.css" />
<
link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="<{$xoops_themecss}>" />

<{
$xoops_module_header}>
<
script type="text/javascript">

script>
<
script language="JavaScript1.2">
var
highlightcolor="#89929E"
var ns6=document.getElementById&&!document.all
var previous=''
var eventobj
var intended=/INPUT|TEXTAREA|SELECT|OPTION/
function
checkel(which){
if (
which.style&&intended.test(which.tagName)){
if (
ns6&&eventobj.nodeType==3)
eventobj=eventobj.parentNode.parentNode
return true
}
else
return
false
}
function
highlight(e){
eventobj=ns6e.target event.srcElement
if (previous!=''){
if (
checkel(previous))
previous.style.backgroundColor=''
previous=eventobj
if (checkel(eventobj))
eventobj.style.backgroundColor=highlightcolor
}
else{
if (
checkel(eventobj))
eventobj.style.backgroundColor=highlightcolor
previous
=eventobj
}
}
script>
head>
<
body
<
FRAMESET rows="50,*">
      <
FRAME src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>header.html">
      <
FRAME src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>main.html">
 FRAMESET>
body>

and of course it doesn't work (I get a blank page with bgcolor of my theme). What am I missing / doing wrong? Is it possible anyway?

oh look what XOOPS search couldn't find, but google could: :)

- Would it be possible to make the modules load only and not the whole page on every buitton click?
- Opening tinycontent pages in a frame?
- Seitenlayout passt nicht @ MyXoops
- Frameset nachladen bei Xoops?

not really sure if I'll find my answer there, but it's a start :)

hmmm when did I say that :-p
... and I did gave this particular fellow his answer ...

Well I posted the code and it should work, but yet it doesn't.

The difference is in trying before asking. Did use the search. Been tackling this feature for a few hours now. Care to point out the stupid mistake I made?

What theme are you using? all you need to do is add a table to your theme.html

and they do ... but I want a frame set like this:

-------------
logo/menu |
-------------
|         |
#|
|         |#|
|         |#|
-------------

|#| => scroll bar

and this doesn't work:
<body
<
FRAMESET rows="50,*">
      <
FRAME src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>header.html">
      <
FRAME src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>main.html">
 FRAMESET>
body>

don't see anything, just a blank.
