how i resize main menu?

I put main menu on left hand and i want to resize it narrower.how can i do it?

You can accomplish this by editing the css file in your themes folder (for the theme you are using).

You should look for the mainmenu ID's.

Actually, it's the left column you have to edit. Look for
td#leftcolumn {
width : 162px;
font-size : 12px;
background : #FFFFFF;
}
Or similar in your style sheets. It's the width you have to edit.
