Hi folks,

I just recently upgraded from 2.0.7 to 2.0.9. It was a successful upgrade but I have to reinstall all my modules and add new information. I then logged into my phpMyAdin and found out that my databases for those modules contain my old information but I don't know how to restore it. How do I go about restoring my database?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Did you make a backup ?

Try to use module BackPack. Hope that helps you ...

Have to ? that does not sound like a successful upgrade...

Upgrading should not interfere with any existing data content of your modules.

Do you mean module settings, or the content of the modules?

Unfortunately, I didn't make a back up of my modules but when I upgraded I made sure not to over write my existing modules folder from 2.o.7.

Yes, I agree that you have a point there. I was wondering why when I upgraded all my modules had to be reinstalled and did not retain the information from the existing version.

I am just wondering if I were to upgrade sucessfully will my modules and its content will be retained? I am a little distress that after the upgrade all the modules that i have installed and added content into have gone.

I mean how do I restore the original content of the modules without having to manually type it in again?

If you have no backup, then you will not be able to restore any content through the database, if that content is now missing. Upgrades should not change any module contents. Sometimes module settings may change, but these are usually rectified easily, (permissions, block placements)

Have you tried updating each module in your system?

I think there is more to this upgrade attempt that we need know about in order help you further.
