Service Status (SSTATUS) module causing blank index page

Hi,

I have just installed Service Status module (SSTATUS) and am having a problem where if i enable the SSTATUS Options in "Blocks" area of system admin, it causes the homepage to go blank and not load XOOPS at all. What is causing this and how can i fix this?

Turn on PHP debugging in your admin preferences and tell us what errors are being returned on the page when you load the block.

Hello,
I have same problem with sstatus module, and when i turn php_debug ON, this message appared :

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in D:\xoops\modules\sstatus\blocks\sstatus_blocks.php on line 70

Also, when i add service, it's not added !

The SSTATUS Options block should be set to only display in the SSTATUS module - rather than Top Page or All Pages in System -> Blocks

The second issue (not being able to add a new service) was discussed with a potential fix in this thread on the Service Status Development Site

I can add new service now after follow this solution:
To fix the adding a service problem, go to sstatus/admin/index.php and replace line 68 with this line:


but u must solve first issue, i wanna use ur module as Alerts System and need it in top page.

the SSTATUS Options block is only used to present administrative options inside the module, and its present behavior does not prevent your intended usage. You'll want to use the other block: Service Status Overview

Nice job :) ... i use "Service Status Overview" block in top page as what i want, but can i ask u what's different between Service Information and Previous Information ?
Previous Information look like history of actions or comments.

Sorry i havent replied in a while. Had to rush interstate on emergancy issue and did not have access. Anyway i have gone through your reply and you have fixed my problem. Thanks a lot.

I do however have another question to ask.
The Service Status module is fantastic module and will serve the purpose that i need but in a different way.

Is is possible to change the name of the status (eg. Online, Minor Problems, Offline) to something else like Enable, In Progress, Disable or ON, current, Off or anything else?

certainly.

Open up /modules/sstatus/languages/english/main.php in a text editor and find these 3 lines:
define('_SSTATUS_OPTION1', 'Online');
define('_SSTATUS_OPTION2', 'Minor Problems');
define('_SSTATUS_OPTION3', 'Offline');


Replace the value for each of those constants to whatever you want it to say.

Oh no wait. There is a problem. If i update the status the screen goes blank and does not go anywhere. yikes we are in trouble.
