I am new to XOOPS & PHP but a long time hard coder.
This week I have started my journey into doing a complete PHP site rather than adding separate PHP programs to my HTML websites for messages boards, etc.

xoops seem to be my software choice so far.

I want to get started in the right direction on WebPages. The sections module seems to be kind of what I am looking at to do topical pages however, it is limited.

I am looking for a module that will allow me to give group permissions to certain pages/articles and also be template friendly when I get to that level.

Can you guy recommend a module please?

i think, you should have a look at wf-sections or smart-sections.
they both seem to do a helluva job, although wf-sections seems to be a bit buggier (not that it has happened to me yet, but from what you read on their own website).

Thanks,
I just downloaded "ARMS".
Do you know about this one and if it will do the trick?

If you want straight HTML on the screen, and aren't concerned about article management, we recommend WF-Channel. We have a perl script for cloning it so that you can create infinite individual sections on your site. More details here:

Good luck,

I want to say muchas gracias for the great help I am getting. I am getting the basics down quick.
I installed wf-sections and think this is a great mod.

OK, next task:
I have tried a couple of image galleries and so far I am missing a funtions that is key for my use.

Can anyone recommend an image gallery Mod that uses the group permissions?

I would like to have links goinging for docs to the related gallery and restricted to an assigned group.

thanks,

Try xoopsgallery. They've got a new version out which works great on my site. Make sure to use the version on the developer's site though, the one here at xoops.org is not the latest and has less options re user permissions.
