How do I display the forums and news when you first load the webpage without being logged in? Is it a template setting?

I know in the XOOPS prefernces I can set the default module for the website, and that default module is loaded at the page first load, but how do I get it to load more than one module or what do I do to make the template display news and forums?

That's a good question, and as far as using templates I don't know how, or even if it can. I have a feeling it may take a bit of hacking the XOOPS core. Have you tried using the spotlight module? Perhaps you could set the default module to the forums and use the spotlight module to display the news?

Are you trying to make it look like this site? On this site, the news and forum modules are not displayed on the entry page. Only the Recent Topics (a newBB block) and Recent Comments (a system block) are displayed.

Yes, similar to the XOOPS site, how you have Recent Topics, and Recent Comments on the main page along with News, how do you do this?

"Recent Comments" and "Recent Topics" are displayed as blocks.
Therefore it will allow you to choose "News" as a Top Page module.

Under preferences, General, there is a setting "Default Module" Whatever module I set this to it automatically loads it at the first page.

I have Recent topics and News displayed on the top page, but you only see both if you are logged in. If you aren't logged in and you go to the page all you see is news.

So My question is how do I make it so the FIRST page you see, before you log in displays both Recent Topics AND news?

Just as I wrote that above, I found it.

Under groups I needed to check the box so the anon group had access to the Recent Topic Block.

Thanks for all the help.
