hi all

All the items in the menu are from the installed modules.
I have 2 things that i want to do.

1. I have the menu item called "Forum" and i want to change this word Forum to "gossip". How to do that?

2. If i need to add an item to the menu which is not a module but my custom page, like say, "aboutme" that takes me to aboutme.php. How to do that?

cheers,
prasad..

Re: Main menu addition how?

1. Change the name in modules admin (the text field below the module image)

2. edit the system_block_mainmenu.html template

You may also check out this forum, that also talks about adding additional main menu items.

Custom Menus

You can download a module called multiMenu, which will allow you to add custom main menus.

system_block_mainmenu.html is editable through administration menu -> System admin -> templates -> system

The physical file is in modules/system/templates/blocks

Please login to your site then load this link.

http://www.yoursite.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=tplsets

A word of warning. You cannot modify the default themeplate. You must make a clone first then modify the clone themeplate. Then you may edit the file system_block_mainmenu.html inside of the clone you just made.

After you finish the edit of the clone apply the clone here.
http://www.yoursite.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=1

Look for Default template set. Set the template to the clone you made.
