A Yahoo yellow pages style location feature for the xdirectory to list by cities, states and provinces. Even a simpler listing of locations that would allow the user to chose the location from a static preset list.

How hard would this be?

I added a Sort by ZIP code future to mine.

Which portion is sorted by Zip? The Classifieds?

BTW - I like your opening page. How did you do it? Was it a standard way via XOOPS Admin, or did you do a lot of customization?

I would make each state/province a category then make the cities subcategories for each state/province then create subcategories under each city with the appropriate categories for the businesses you want to display.

example:

USA
--Alaska
--California
----San Francisco
------Arts and Entertainment
--------Art Galleries
--------Antiques
----Sacramento
------Arts and Entertainment
--------Art Galleries
--------Antiques
----Los Angeles
------Arts and Entertainment
--------Art Galleries
--------Antiques
--Idaho

That would be the easiest way to achieve what you want.

xdir is a slide modification of phplinks.
If you go to my links page enter any catagory you will see in the "Sort by:" menu a new item called "Zip Code".

Try that.

My main page look is all XOOPS standard.
