After upgrading to 2.0.7.1 from 2.0.3, I am noticing that my module code is slower for some complex database queries that join three or more tables togather.
I am getting the php error "maxiumum execution time exceeded" and have modifed php.ini to allow execution time of 120 seconds. The server is now using 100% cpu for about 80 seconds when the same page was previously taking about 20 seconds before.
It was ok before (in version 2.0.3), so could there be some new kernel code in 2.0.7.1 that is less efficient and uses significantly more CPU cyles?
I am using PHP version 4.3.8, MySQL version 3.23, Red Hat version 7.3. The server is Pentium III 1266MHz, System Bogomips 2516.58 with 512 Mb RAM and 20Gb freee disk space - and is dedicated to this XOOPS system.
Any ideas? This is becoming a real problem.
Thanks,
