How many emails can XOOPS handle ?
I agree 20.000 is a bit much but where is the limit at the moment ?
I am busy converting a site with over 1200 members.
Am I going to run into problems when sending them the monthly newsletter ?

I tend to agree with Jan304 that it is something which could do with fixing

I guess making it process batches of 100 mails in one go should do the trick no?

Well, from my understanding PHP limits memory usage as well as will time out after so many seconds (I believe 300 seconds is default) so any activities will have to be under the above constraints. And I think 20,000 e-mails would well exceed the above.

Does anyone know where I can get the obscene_v3_c3 theme from while aston themes is down?

I've Googled it well, but none of the results get me anywhere.

If anyone has got the theme please could they PM me and I'll give them my email.

Cheers

Can I make a suggestion - why not have a version status in the admin somewhere, similar to the one phpBB now has.

Basically, when an admin logs in, they're presented with some text in green if they're using the latest version, or text in red with some blurb about the latest update...

Yep, I agree a little green light for up to date and a red one for update available. Maybe version numbers and changelogs too.

I guess this might be a bit of a hit on server resources for you guys. You could limit the check to once per day.

Also I recommend.. http://www.listmessenger.com/ You could run mailing lists totally seperate to Xoops.org membership (a good thing as people may not be members or have an up to date address).

You could have multiple newsletters ie...
One for new versions
One for urgent security updates
One for general whatever

You might be able to stick some advertising on there as well
