what version of PHP does the XOOPS module need to work properly. My servers as the 4.1.2 php version. could that be the problem?

I also just realise that when I create new caregories in my news module, They dont appear in the check bo unbder the perms. Boy do I need help

I'm not sure of specific PHP requirements for News 1.2.1, but XOOPS 2.0.7.x has a minimum of 4.1.0, and 4.3.x (i'm using 4.3.8) is recommended. 4.1.2 was released on 12 March 2002, so it's getting pretty old now. I'd be looking to upgrade, and then revisit the issue.
