Sorry Dep, but you NEED to have that adminmenu.php chmodded 777 or it won't work.. not ever, no matter what firewall settings you have.

If you can't chmod it, have your webserver support staff chmod it. Or have them chown it to your account so you can chmod it.

666, not 777. It's a .php file, not a directory, so it only needs write permission, but not execute permission.

in your root web you should make sure you have ownership of all directories and files. i would change take this up with your host.

I'm having a similar problem on my site, but not just with xoops. My host had to recently restore the server after a drive crash and since then, any files that XOOPS or gallery create don't have the correct ownership. They all say "nobody" for group and owner. My host has no idea why it's doing it so not much help there. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is keeping me out of the admin preferences for all modules, and I can't add files to my gallery.
