Good morning all,

I am running XOOPS 2.3.1 and im using the jobs module to make a job board type site.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the search function is expandable to be able to accomodate a second search field with the over all query being an exact match of search field 1 and an exact match of search field 2.
i.e
search field 1 = keyword search "Manager"
search field 2 = location search "London"
The results would show all listings with the word Manager AND London in them, but not nesaceraly together.

At the moment using the standard search if i look for "Manager London" my results are not reliable enough for people to find exactly what they are looking for.

Is this kind of thing possible? if it is, any tips on a good place to start? I've had a look in the search.php file for the jobs module but i think its sending the actual search functions off to another core file and thought i best to ask before i start really poking around.

Thanks for reading,
Dean

Hi guys,

Wow thats a quick reply :) Yes, sorry, to many bits going on, i do indeed mean register.php. The reason for the change is im trying to build up a job board, and with the nature of a jobboard i need to make it increadably easy for people to register to be able to upload CV's and apply to jobs in the fastest manner and the only fields that i really need are :

Username
Email
Password
Verify Password
disclaimer

My plan would be to copy the files im changing, up load them and if all goes bad to put the origionals back in place.

My project site is currently sitting at www.timetomoveon.co.uk before going live and running on version 2.3.1

Is there a module that allows you to customise the registration fields?

Thanks for the help guys.

Hi guys,

Im building a site and i need to cut down on the amount of detail gathered during the registration process and for the life of me i can not find the template html file that relates to the core user.php for editing this (am i even in the right area? :) )

I have been able to find and edit files that are parts of modules (where you have a php and html file working in partnership passing strings between the two) but im stuck on the core files.

Any pointers / tips would be great.

Many thanks,
Dean

Hi Zyspec,

Thanks for the quick reply. With your advice and a couple of random documents i found on the net i have managed to get my own module published on my site. Now all there i need to do is edit the php to show the cats rather than the latest 5 jobs.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi all,

New to XOOPS and I was wondering if it is possible to include some of the features of installed modules into blocks for displaying on the home page?

Im using the job list module and I would really like to create a block that is a list of all the categories and sub categories from the job list module for quick easy browsing but im really stuck of where to start for learning how all the different includes work and how I would reference from the module in a block. Are there any white papers around that could help me on this? I have a basic php understanding for writing and reading code.

Look forward to any replies.

site : www.timetomoveon.co.uk

Thanks,
Dean
