That did it. Thanks! (See? That's why I come here.)

Thanks, but now I see the problem has to do with the theme I'm using. When I switch to an alternate theme, I get "More."

Anyone know what I should look for and edit in the faulty theme?

Anyone else have this problem?

My Who's Online block works but the "More" function doesn't. Clicking it does nothing.

When I enter the path my_xoops_folder/misc.php?action=showpopups&type=online','Online',420,350 directly into my browser, I do get a window but, as I said, nothing when I click "More"

Javascript works okay.

Any ideas?

Y'see, it's like this ...

It's been a long day in the jungle and I've been under a lot of stress and not eating right or getting enough sleep and the dog needs polishing and the car needs walking and ... and ... oh, go ahead, say it, "RTFM, Tongo! RTFM!!!"

Once I RTed the FM, everything worked. Of course, it would.

*sigh* Thanks for the suggestion and, yes, it's CBB.

*grumble* (rtfm, tongo) *grumble*

I discovered the problem. It was caused by having a pending newbb module waiting to be installed. My 2.0.14 apparently has a reference to modules\newbb somewhere and was trying to load data from an uninstalled module. Removing the newbb folder solved the problem.

Anyone have an idea of how I get a forum installed now?

Module Administration page too "short"

Alluva sudden, my Module Administration page won't scroll down enough to show uninstalled modules -- it shows what's installed then stops scrolling at the Module/Version/Action header, atop where the uninstalled modules should be. I've tried this on different browsers on different computers, so it's definitely a XOOPS thing (2.0.14). Any ideas as to what happened and how I can fix this "short" page?

Solved! "Could not connect to the database server ..."

I had the same "Could not connect to the database server" issue and it was driving me crazy. In the final solution, it turned out to be a simple problem.

My hosting provider uses cPanel, which has its own routine for creating MySQL databases, and that is what I used.

Let's assume my provider account is named GORILLA and I create a MySQL database named XOOPS1 and a db user named XOOPSER. The "official" names of the database and user become GORILLA_XOOPS1 and GORILLA_XOOPSER, respectively.

Using GORILLA_XOOPS1 and GORILLA_XOOPSER for the names in my XOOPS setup (instead of simply XOOPS1 and XOOPSER) solved the problem!

Xoops setup "Could not connect to the database server" because I had been giving it the wrong names.

Such is life in the Jungle.

Excellent tip. Thank you. The lost blocks have been located.

Yes, I'm using 2.0.x.x. Is there a "show all blocks to the admin regardless of where they're located so he doesn't have to waste so much time searching his own site just to make a two-second change to one stinkin' block" function in other versions?

When I create a custom block, it does not appear in Blocks Administration in the System module. I can locate and edit the block via the Groups module, but I cannot delete it.

Why does my custom block not appear in Blocks Administration? How can I delete it?
