I too am having this issue but I've already tried enabling the theme template file update option specified above. Are there any other possibilities? I have verified that the server has read access to the new theme.html file.

XOOPS Version: 2.0.13.1
Module Name/Version: LanMod 1.0
PHP Version: 4.4.1
MySQL Version: 4.1.15
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): IIS6
Operating System: Windows Server 2003
Theme you are using: 4thefort
Custom template: (Yes/No) No
PHP Debug Messages: enabled, no errors
MySQL Debug Messages: enabled, no errors
Smarty Debug Messages: enabled, no errors
A full description of the issue:

I have copied the LanMod folder to my modules directory on the webserver (I host my own site, I own the server), and set the permissions correctly. When I pull up the Module Admin page to install it, I click on the install icon then confirm the installation and receive the error posted below. yes, I have turned all debugging interfaces, no error are seen in any of the debug text.

Before I attempted installation, I setup a test copy of XOOPS on a virtual server andit installed fine the first time. Any suggestions?

I received the exact same error message that started this thread when running Windows Server 2003/IIS6/PHP v5.1.1/Xoops 2.0.13.2/ I tried using MySQL v5.0.17 and v4.1.16...the error occured each time. The only way I got it to install was by downgrading to PHP 4.4.1 and MySQL 4.0.26. Aftr the site was setup I successfully upgraded mySQL back to 4.1.16....I haven't tried MySQL 5 yet.

I'm trying to install XOOPS v2.0.13.2 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 on IIS6.

PHP 4.4.1 and MySQL 4.0.26 works fine but I need to run newer versions for other services based on the same server.
PHP 4.4.1 and MySQL 5.0.17 and 4.0.26 fails stating that it "cannot detect the database version"
PHP 5.1.1 and MySQL 4.0.26 fails giving errors during the process of writing to the mainfile.php
PHP 5.1.1 and MySQL 5.0.17 fails stating that is "cannot detect the database version"

https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=204
The XOOPS FAQ clearly states that PHP 5.1 is supported...what gives?

I set everything up in a virtual server....100% identical configurations except the PHP/MySQL versions.

Can anyone shed some light on this frustration situation? Also, I couldn't find a FAQ stating whether or not MySQL 5 is supported, does anyone know if it's "supposed" to work?

FYI...screenshots are available upon request.
