I'm sure there are better ways, but as nobody has replied to you I can suggest one very crude way:
Hack the system_block_mainmenu template in the templates directory. If you're comfortable with php, it shouldn't be difficult to add an if-line telling the template to treat the teamspeak module differently.

Hello XOOPers,

Does anyone have any idea how to hack into the list of sublinks listed in the main menu. I'm trying to strip down the WF-Links module, and I want to get rid of the various options it gives you in the main menu.

Thanks
Saameh

Dear XOOPers,

Does anyone know of a SIMPLE Links module - that just presents the name of the website, and a category? Or do I have to strip down one of the complicated ones in the XOOPS module repository?

Thanks
Saameh

Aha! My version of XOOPS doesn't give that rather helpful example in mainfile.php. Thanks for your help!

Dear XOOPers

I hope someone can help me with what is no doubt a newbie problem. I've just uploaded my XOOPS website, and adjusted my XOOPS_ROOTS_PATH as my space provider suggested. The problem is with the constant XOOPS_URL. If I leave it blank, the website works, but there are problems in that a) the user activation confirmation email does not show the correct link but rather the internal path "/modules/profiles..." and b) redirecting doesn't work (it keeps on trying to go to a website called "modules/prifles..." etc. If I change the XOOPS_URL to my URL (www.babelnet.co.uk), however, it is unable to load up templates and stuff.

What should I do? Do I have to invent a new constant in mainfile.php? It seems like XOOPS sometimes wants the full URL, but sometimes only wants the internal path.

Thanks for your help

Thanks Ritchie,

I guess that was quite a beginner level question, wasn't it? :)

Dear Xoopers,

I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I'm trying to build a website containing teaching materials related to global issues (the environment, immigration, war, fair trade) for English language teachers. I've picked the Articles module from the Module Repository here to drive the listing and displaying of teaching materials.

It nedes to be altered a little bit to do everything I need, and here's where the problems start (I guess). Articles main file (index.php) calls a template, thus...

$xoopsOption['template_main'] = 'article_index.html';

this file article_index, which i've found in the templates subdirectory, seems to match the appearance of the screen when I run the module on my website. However, when I modify the file, it doesn't change anything to do with the appearance. I can even delete the file and there is no change. Yet, when I change the line in index.php to call another name, the screen shows up blank.

What am I missing? Does $xoopsOption['template_main'] do something more sinister than just call the template mentioned? Please please help - it's for a good cause!

Thanks
Saameh

'Advanced' Articles module?

Hello,

I'm trying to use XOOPS to develop a website where people can search an MySQL database for teaching materials. Each row in the database will contain the description of the material, as well as various descriptive fields (e.g. minimum and maximum age of students, topic, etc.), both numerical and set type.

I've been fiddling with XOOPS for a few days and have found the Articles module on this website to come closest to my requirements, in terms of presenting search results (the engine for generating complex search queries I'll write in PHP), or allowing users to simply browse the database. However, it doesn't have all the fields I need to search on. Should I just go ahead and hack the Articles module code, or does anyone know of a more advanced module that allows the developer to customise the database more?

Thanks loads,
Saameh
