Try PD-Downloads from Power Dreams. Remember you normaly only allowed to upload filed up 2Mb, if you what to upload larger files you most alter you apache config, it is pretty easy.

First question go in to admin mode
go to
"Blocks"->"List all blocks"
go to the specific block

Look for module: smartcection.

There is a dropdown box where you can select on the page it should be placed, if you whant more options use edit, here you can select the groups there will have the block presented on the page.

Since you are seems to know a lot just another question. How do you write out the users groups. f.ex

you are member of following groups
Administrator
Superuser

I tried a lot of the examples on the site but nothing seems to work on my 2.2.2, many of the posts is more than one year old. I got one working but I only get an array with the group id's. I have no knowledge of php, just jsp but i working on it.

There is examples of smarty task script but I would really like to have it as block.

Hope we could have this Thread open for this question because it also ref. to XOOPS variables in blocks

I have tried the block script and I get get a blank page, i haven't enabled debug, my XOOPS is 2.2.2

Hi Lance thanks for your fast response. I am not clear about showing blocks in the main page. Could you explain it more precise?? I have not altered my block config.

Yes I have activated "Allow new user registration"

I think have found a workaround

(1) Took a fresh backup with MySQL Administrator
(2) Deleted the database
(3) Done the installation with the wizard
(4) Restored the backup

And now it works I have no clue how, if you now what could have been the big magic wand I would be very glad to hear it.

No block shown index.php

After moving my DB changed the underlaying database on my XOOPS 2.2.2, I dont get any login window I have checked my block settings and it is as before. unfortunally mysite/registre.php doesn't work either so new users can't register themselfs. My workaround this time is to set

Administration>Preferences>General Settings

Module for your start page : PD-Downloads

The user is then redirected to user.php where they can log in. unfurtanally doesn't it solve new windows opening on the page, here is the user requested to login again.

as ex.
http://www.backup.lpkom.dk/user.php?xoops_redirect=%2Fmodules%2FPDdownloads%2Findex.php

I have tried all kinds of debug features but nothing have helped me yet.

I have searched the faq/forum in many hours but I have not found anything there could lead me in the right direction please help me.

Thanks romdg, it works. sorry for my long time to response, I had a system down on my 2.2.3RC I sorry I updated, but ofcause i should have the lates version with all the new nice features.

To others remember to do something about the avatar, if the user dont have any you will get an error so do a check, or leave it out.

I have the same problem recently, I had a issue with my XOOPS 2.2.3 server where my partition locked my MySql database so i tried to import it to a secondary server. but what ever I do

I can't get it to work.

I had some special fields in my 2.2.3RC instalation, so it's maybe why, could you came up with a guide how to remove Extended profiles so I could make a re-install.
I have tried myself but some of the tables are connected with the system tab so i loose my users. or to be more precise i cant find the users i the tab user -> find users even if they is listed in my DB

Using xoops variables in blocks

I have tried to make a costum block and it works fine with static information. But it could be nice to use the XOOPS variables. I whant to write out the users name with the line
{$xoops_uname} but XOOPS does not replace the text and simply writes {$xoops_uname}, a have tried editning some php files and here it works fine.

I running version 2.2.2
