That's exactly what I need.
Basically, I'd like my membership to be able to interact with the site just via email if necessary. Getting email notifications WITH the news content, and sending comments back to the website via email. Kind of like a Yahoo group.

Ditto here! Most of my users are not very tech savvy, and won't bother setting notifications - I need to be able to do this for them, preferably by groups.

Also, setting default notifications for new users would be very useful too.

I had already done the upgrade, thanks.
Disabled RSS seemed to bring it back to life. Wish I could risk trying to repeat the problem to see if it really was that... maybe at my next maintenance window.

Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated.

Heh - I am calm, thanks. Just a little baffled.

Rest of site works (I've redirected homepage to xcgal to give them something to look at), but news page still throwing blank page + Notify error. They primarily use it for news.

What other diagnoses can I try? I've got PHP debug on.

Hi all,
It was working fine, then I switched on RSS feeds (users were on too, so may have been other activity).

Now the site is blank with PHP debug message (I got that far):-
Quote:
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: xoopsConfig in file /home/content/m/a/r/mariners/html/xoops/html/modules/xcgal/language/english/modinfo.php line 97

Aside from it being more than a notice (ie. site is dead!) I do not know what is causing this. I've checked the php file in question, and the variable is there, all defined.

Ideas, anyone? My site is toast and the users are restless!!

Upgrade from 2.11 to 2.2.x - which package?

Please could somebody tell me which upgrade package(s) to use to accomplish this upgrade?

Also, am I right in thinking that if I install a 'full version' (ie. not upgrade pack), it will delete all the previous settings?

Thanks, -- T

I'm running XOOPS 2.11.
I've just upgraded news from 1.1 to 1.4. Didn't lose any articles (I don't think), but the permissions are all messed up: the default user it shows in 'Submit News' page is the sys admin, and even when I change it to my personal account (still with admin access), it posts the article as the sys admin.

So, two issues:-
1. it should have me (logged in) as the poster by default on the 'Submit News' screen
2. it should post with whoever I select in the box as the poster (otherwise what is the point of the option?)

I really like the new module, though. Great job. Please just tell me how I can fix this, as I have loads of users who currently can't submit news and they're harassing me!

I agree. Is there an email list module for xoops? You know, so I could have an email address for XOOPS groups that distributes emails to everyone in that group?

Related to this, how do I access images from modules that only support direct references? eg. AgendaX (calendar module).

Is there an easy way to find out the path and name of the image, as stored in the file system? (eg. '[imagemgr_path]/mypic.jpg')

Is there any way to select images from the Image Manager for banners?
