In my opinion it is indeed the protector module.
Disable it and you wil see the uploaded modules.
I am not sure but when I had this problem I think I did it by set the module protector of in de database. It is a few weeks ago i cannot remember.

I think :
/***/***/***/trusted file/modules/protector/include/postcheck.inc.php on line 140

On line 140 you wil find a require. Change it in require_once.

I think it has something to do with a require. A function has allready been required.
I think you must find dat require and change it in:
require_once()
And see what hapens.

Elsewhere I found the answer:
The class is included more then one time witch is not allowed

In all the php-files off the module Extcal:
do a find and replace from "include" in "include_once"

That will do.

Maybe there is something wrong with search.php?
What happens when you enter www.yoursite/search.php

Maybe the next thing is to put debug on and see what massage you can get.

In the module admin you can set the permission for the categoies and groups. Is it on?

I think it is one of the modules you use that takes to much memory.
Have you instaled a new one?
Maybe you can deinstall that module and look what is going to happen.
