Hello everyone.
I have tried several times to do this one on my own, but have only managed to curse at my computer because I haven't a clue how to do it.

So, I have decided that is something that I should probably let an experienced programmer do (since my very sanity is at risk here......lol)

I need a custom/hacked module designed for my website.

I'm just not able to do this one on my own & this module will contain the most important info on my site. I love XOOPS & can't bring myself to consider changing to anything else.

If anyone is interested, please contact me regarding details. I am willing to pay and/or offer a sponsorship ad on the module pages.

anyone thats interested, please contact me at owner@nymissing.com

Hi everyone,

First, I want to say just how much I love using xoops. It has saved me so many hours of work & I now help manage 3 site using it.

Anyways, on to the issue.

I currently use the news module (www.nymissing.com/modules/news) to list important case files. I have made tons of changes to the module so it works for me.

What i am looking for is something that would work a bit better. I took a peek at the formulaire (sp) module, but I am not all the great at php and it looks like it is a bit beyond my current knowledge.

I was hoping someone would help me change a module like xdirectory or a real estate module to fit what I need.

If anyone is interested, please let me know.
thanks so much
Tracie

Hi all,

I have just a bit of a problem. On the search form located at www.nymissing.com/search.php I noticed that none of the areas are checked by default. I also noticed that if you don't check a specific area, then the search results show up on a plain white page. I tried going back to the 2.0.10 version of both searchform.php & search.php , but it has not corrected the problem.

I know it is a tiny issue, but it has been bugging me for a while now.......lol

Note : I am currently using XOOPS version 2.0.13.1

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks a bunch

Page looks great except I don’t like the GIF down where the footer is.

I don't like it there either.....lol

Was planning to add it to the donations page since the hosting company has been really great to be me :)

For the site-content the bgcolor is great. It`s sure that you have to make a layout with (only) one font. All in all it is a great work!

Thank you for the saying this! I have always wanted to use soft colors for hte background because of the content. I think I finally found the perfect color :)

Still working on the style sheets to work out the font issuses. First time I have ever used style sheets so I am learning as I go.

Perhaps the award-images may be smaller.

I agree about this too. Was figuring on finding a way to reduce the size or use a different module for them. Was considering putting a section in the news area for awards, but might be able to find something down the line to fit their need better :)

Once agian, thank you all for taking your time to take a look at my site!

Hi, I looked at your site and here I have some comments for ya:
- Try to avoid many different fonts.
- Don't use many different sizes one a page.
- Use a closing line on the right of your tables.

Because of the variate between the fonts the site is a little bit disoriantating for me. You nice table borders, but why not on the most important section on the right? I have the feeling that the text can 'walk away'.
When you've finished that try to add minor graphics. Not that graphics are always good for a site. Mines is plain atm.

Although for a beginner it is ok.

Thank you for the suggestions. I think I worked out the font issue. Also, will be adding some graphics later to dress things up a bit, but wanted to get the basic layout and such set up and functioning.

I also still have to change the other style sheets
(only worked on the IE one so far)

Once agian, thank you for the suggstions.

Hello, I have spent a good part of the last 2 weeks redoing a large site. I think I have it set up pretty well now using XOOPS for all of it.

Can anyone take a minute to look it over and give me their opinion?

The original site is located HERE

and the XOOPS version I am working on is located HERE

Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated. I have never used XOOPS or php prior to 2 weeks ago so it is likely that I have screwed several things up....lol

I am waiting on a review from here before I add the rest of the content.

Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!

PS-I am beginning to love XOOPS

News Module how to add html to the main page

Hello, tried a search of the forums and found nothing.

This is probably a really dumb question, but I wanted to add html content to the main News page . I made 2 menus for the content of the news, but wanted to make them both part of the news main page template. Using custom blocks makes the tables show up on all the news pages and i only want them on the main news page.

So my question is this: which file do I edit to add custom html to the news index page? I tryed to add the table of links to the news_index.html , but it did not show up. Can anyone help?

HERE is my site.
