mod_rewrite /module directory

I'm having some difficulty modifying a mod_rewrite script to rewrite www.domain.com/modules/news/ to www.domain.com/sitetopic/news

eg:
RewriteRule ^sitetopic/news/article-([0-9]+).html$ modules/news/article.php?storyid=$1 [L]

I am getting an error: Selected module does not exist!

I am trying to rewrite the URL from module/news/ to sitetopic/news/ but am having some difficulty figuring it out. 5 hours on and I'm no better off. :( Any help, greatly appreciated.

Entire post rather than 'notification of post'

I'm wanting to get every forum comment emailed to me rather than just getting notified that someone has posted. Does anyone have a mod or something that would work for something like this?
