Hey, I'm experiencing the same, I just installed XOOPS on a Debian Sarge.
(I've done this in the past on other servers though)
Just on this one doesn't work.

I installed apache2, updated
PHP4 updated
mySQL updated, user with all permisions and DB created

and when giving all data about the DB (during the install procedure), next page comes out blank.

no error codes, how can I debug to see the same error codes as chlockett sees?

thanks

Hi

this is different from my other situation where I couldn't show the forum as the default module on the home page.

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=27155&forum=20

Probably due to trying to solve this still persisting situation, now there is no way to load the home page, it never ends loading,
I can login to the admin page directly to /admin.php

I have turned on debugging but the same situation

does anyone has a clue...

I have the whole site down, and don't know what to do.

I recopied the 2.0.9 files

Hi,
My XOOPS was working very well, I decided then to upgrade to newBB2 RC3 from V1.0.
then my main page stopped loading, I checked it up and realized if I place the default module to Forums, it does not load up
Module for your start page = Forums

but if I place another one for example
Module for your start page = Headlines,
it does works fine, and I can enter the forums from there without trouble.

I followed up all the instructions of the readme, (didn't quite understudd the update Newbb Templates though)

Does anyone knows what the problem is?

thanks

I have also found a conversion tool to transfer yahoo to PHPBB forums The tool is athttp://www.tt-solutions.com/en/products/yahoo2mbox/

This is also great, the next question, probably for another topic would be:

how to import from a MBOX file to any XOOPS module either BB or not.

I was afraid someone would say that, because the users usually leave their settings unchanged when registering, so they don't know of new posts on their threads,

I have been changing this for each new user, but it is getting out of hand,

hi thanks a lot for your advices,

how about trying to bring the old data from yahoo?
this is one of the big issues.
a lot of interesting information, I admit, would be lost.

I don't own the yahoo group and seems like the actual owner is no longer active.

How do I add all these pull down menus of this forum, with the rating thing, the user profile, the pdf creator.... etc.

is this a different theme?

Hi all again,

I have this bunch of people ussing a yahoo group and want to bring them to a XOOPS group,

well, I have, as allways, some users came in and other users are been reluctant to it, so I thought I should share here their reasons not to switch, so that maybe someone here could help me to come up with solutions and reasons to convince the non believers.

Reasons they give:

1- you can't answer the forums threads email by replying to the same email, instead they have to log into the forum to reply.... any ideas?

2- you can't read the replied message on the email, you have to go to the forum for that

3- there is a lot of history on the yahoo group that may not be ported to this new group.

4- yahoo groups has fairly the same features....

thanks for your comments
