i just had a similar problem... found the source to be a block containing some code from another website which was experiencing slowdowns... removed the block and voila

I've been discussing this with a friend who works in web development, he pointed out that based on his experience with smarty, performance problems *might* arise when when the game reaches a certain complexity(large number of templates) and several thousand users in the community.

Has anybody had any experience with XOOPS in such conditions?

I was wondering if it would be possible to create a game based on the XOOPS frame.

The general idea is to create a game where the player manages a racing team (buying and maintaining a car, hiring and training drivers etc). Every few days there would be races held where the players could compete against each other (results automatically generated based on many factors)

Is XOOPS suitable to create such a game on?

Any feedback would be appreciated
