I have to leave GoDaddy because they don't support fsockopen. I chose Surpass after reading about it here. I'm in the middle of migrating my site, using the site migration FAQ as my guide, and have a couple questions.

What's the value of XOOPS_ROOT_PATH?

Since I don't want to shut down my current site on GoDaddy until the new one is fully up and running, and they provide a temporary path to my new site, can I use that temporary IP address they gave me for the XOOPS_URL? e.g. 'http://72.29.12.4/~mobilef'

I've already got a support ticket and thread going with Surpass, but I'll ask this here in case anyone wants to comment. Any tips on setting up database users? I'm having issues with their cPanel/MySQL Administration and phpMyAdmin.

I _was_ able to import my database fine, but I don't have access to it. Through the cPanel/MySQL page I created the database, a user, and associated the user with the database. But then when I hit the phpMyAdmin link, it logs on as a default user like 'myfooUser@localhost'. This default user has no preferences and doesn't show up in the cPanel/MySQL Admin page, so I can't give it prefs. I don't understand how I was able to import the database with no prefs, but it did upload.

Thanks

Brian

I couldn't find any install directions in the zip file for this module, but I went to a phpMyAdmin site and found some there. It only mentioned editing a config file (Which one I've forgotten now; it was last night, and I couldn't post this then for some reason). But I looked at the config file and it looked like it was using things like XOOPS_DB_USER, which were already defined.

Anyway, here's the errors:

Installing phpmyadmin

- Could not insert phpmyadmin to database.

Unable to write to main menu.

Thanks very much! That's exactly what I was looking for, and I've got it working now too.

How can I 'wrap' my .php in my site's XOOPS headers and footers, when an external site is redirecting a user back to my .php?

I'm trying to do some PayPal integration and have the users redirected back to my site after they pay for something. I've got the redirect working back to my .php, but I just put it in a subdirectory and point them straight to it, and so it comes up plain, w/out any XOOPS headers/footers/menu.

I'm still a newbie so I'm thinking I'm missing something basic. I'm not sure which module or block to use to enter my script.

Thanks

I went through the FAQ and didn't find much that was helpful or relevant. The section on debugging referred to when you get a white screen for a .php, and that's not what I'm getting. My script has a php section, and then some simple html. The html is displaying, but nothing is showing for the php part, and I have several echos in there. But I thought it said that the debugging parts or the errors are displayed on the screen, if you've turned debugging on. Is that right?

Thanks! So now that I've turned it on, where is the debug output located?

Also, how do I know which scripts/pages fall under the domain of XOOPS? For the script I'm working on, I have simply added it in a directory, and I manually request the page. So it doesn't have the left side navigation, banners, templates, etc.

This may be more of a general PHP question, I'm new to PHP too. I've gotten my first, basic PHP script working. But now I've copied a more complex script and it's not working, so I'd like to see some kind of logging. How can I turn that on, or where would I see that?

I'm running it on a hosted site, not locally. I guess I could try to get it running locally, but it receives a request (the script is posted to) and then makes another request, so I just haven't worked out my firewall settings at home yet.

Thanks

I'm a xoops-newbie and am a bit confused. I have the basics up and running. Now I've added a module (Mantis for bug tracking) and I would like to set up a group that has permission to this module. Is the instructions in the first post how I would do that? Where do I get those .php files he listed?

I'm running XOOPS 2.0.7.

Thanks! I still don't see any way to do that in the forum, but I found the option in my profile.

Maybe I don't have the latest version of XOOPS and/or the forum module, I installed it about 9 months ago.
