yeah, carnuke, the phpbb module is also located on that same page in the link that I gave. Koudanshi made both of them.

As for if using this module would be safe considering it's modification to core files. Koudanshi has been doing these modules for a while now and he has kept them up to date as soon as a new XOOPS is released that effects the module itself. Although of course as pointed out the chance always exists where he could be late with updating but overall it's unlikely. I've been using his IPB module since he came out with it and he's never been behind in updating it to work with a new XOOPS release. Definitely something to think about though.

I'm not a big theming expert but I can tell you that XOOPS is very flexible with what you can do with it. Check out chapi's site for a good example. It's kind of close to your layout. There's a lot of good themers out there that would be more than happy to help you get started if you are having trouble getting your feet off the ground with it.

By the way, sorry for taking so long for a response ;).

Yourhelp...do a search on this forum for a guy named tywick, he was doing a yabb module for xoops. I'm not sure what his status is with it, he might've stopped production of it, but who knows. Find him and ask him a few questions. He's the only person I know of who's attempted this and this was quite a while ago. And seeing how I haven't heard much from him I'm guessing he's dropped this project, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Q: "What is the correct pronunciation of XOOPS?"
A: However you pronounce it
There is no (AFAIK) "correct" way to pronounce XOOPS. Some say "eksoops", some say "ksoops"... personally I switch between them or give up and say "The open source CMS, I'm working with"

Hope I've been of help to you.

LOL, I've always pronouced it "Zoops", and just realized I'm way off.

don't feel bad, you're not alone on this ;). But well, I'll continue to pronounce it as "Zoops" also.

yes, patagon, you're right, I apologize. In order to edit your templates you have to clone the existing set. Basically you cannot edit the default template set. So therefore if you just clone the template set you use you can edit the system_block_login.html file and then click submit and then set that template set as your new default.

As you can see I haven't much experience playing with the templating system . Guess I got some studying up to do,

Yeah templates can only be viewed, not edited from there. Don't ask me why, lol. I have the slightest clue. But regardless, I just downloaded system_block_login.html from system/modules/templates and modified the file manually and then reuploaded it. After that you can go to modules admin and update the system module and the change should take effect.
