yea ive ran into a few issues with the login.. seems theres a few ways of goin about it, but they arent all that secure.. i guess this is somethin ima have to put alot of time into.

i got a lil bored yesterday and thought of something interesting.. i figured i'd try and connect to my database from visual basic.. it was simple enough to do.. then i thought hmmm.. i wonder if i could attempt to authenticate a user name and password from an exe file like this.. in a sence making a program interface for my website. (but not as elaborate as xoops) i know that would take ALOT of time to code, let alone all of the bugs i'd run across.. but theres one problem that caught my attention.. the password stored in the db.. i believe its encrypted, but im not exactly sure how XOOPS encrypts it.. if anyone would like to help with this issue, and or the project as a whole, let me know.. ive got pretty much nothing but time on my hands, many years of vb, and a few years hosting small scale websites like the ones i use with xoops.


just thought i'd get someone thinking

im not tring to bug, but i seriously have no idea if im supposed to change something/add something to use the php mail functions.. can someone please help? ;[ i dont like automaticly activating new users to my XOOPS powered site

yes yes yes! very helpful! i had installed it today and seen this error.. i was like hmm.. but i left it without deleting it, then i see the patch n was like ohhh h*ll YEA! lol

anyway, if u havent downloaded it yet, and your thinking about it, check out bassmans site, or mine here athttp://mosthatedonline.com ;D (hope i dont get yelled at for posting my link, im jus trin to show off the net2ftp)

im also using the same setup, my mail pref's read the same. are we supposed to use something other than php? if we can use the php mail, is there anything extra we need? should this work from a clean install or not?

im having the same issue.. just last night my domain finally became active,http://mosthatedonline.com
when using the url redirect from my dns settings, it simply redirects to the free domain i used to use mosthatedonline.no-ip.com (which id like to get rid of).. when i use the A (Address) basicly specifing that my IP address (hosted on home computer) is the host's address, hardly any of the scripts show up, maybe 3 images are shown, and i can not log in. maybe this will help with the trouble shooting because im sure more than us two have had this problem!

also i have to use the no-ip.com in the mainfile otherwise i get the no image problem.. when using my .com in the mainfile, its as if its the wrong site.. [shrugs] im stumped

Ive been searching for days for some help with this topic. Instead of web space, im offering game server rentals.. if the admin section of this module can set up dif. variables n what not, that would be so sweet! I was tearing things apart tring to figure out how to get the order form to notify me (or the admin group) that there was a new order, but im stumped!! good luck with this, the ideas great, and dont stop!

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY GGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!! if i had a paypal account, id give u the d*mn access numbers n say take it! lol ive been trin to figure this jksdfhjkfadsjkfhaksdjf********* error out for almost a week and you just fixed it for me.. thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOo much!! i'll definatly keep in touch.. i owe you one!!!!
