I'm in the process of developing our lifeteen (youth group) website for our church. It's already being used by the teens but I don't want to publish the url publicly until I manage to configure it so that anonymous users can't view registered users registration information.

Our lead youth minister is very concerned about anonymous users being able to contact our teens through our website so it's got to be private for us. I think that should be considered as a default setting in a future release of xoops.

As soon as I get that fixed I'll post the url.

http://www.digicomplex.com/ doesn't seem to be working and I can't find any information on this but I know it's possible.

Every time I click flat it seems to reset back to threaded and in the server settings I only see an option to set comments to flat by default but not forum posts.

*edit*
In this thread I was advisted that
Quote:
You go to general settings and then the "Default Comment Display Mode" listbox and choose flat.

I know its says comments, but it includes Newbb as well.

However, the confusing part for me is that I've already selected flat in the listbox under general settings > default comment display mode but it's still showing up as threaded mode by default in the newbb module posts for all users.

You can click flat but when you go to return to the thread later or go to another one it always resets back to threaded.

(I apologize for the 2nd post but I couldn't find the original post when I searched so I thought it got deleted by an admin and I didn't realize I could get to my posts from my user menu)

Hi, I use my XOOPS site for youth ministry where protecting the information of our registered users in the memberlist module is critical.

I've disabled anonymous access to everything related to the memberlist but all I need to type ishttps://xoops.org/userinfo.php?uid=2 for example on any website that uses XOOPS just type http://xoopssiteurl/userinfo.php?uid=anyrandomuid#

For youth ministry we don't want anonymous users who haven't been through a screening process to be able to contact the kids in our youthgroup who have been registered for obvious reasons. We are allowing anonymous access to only limited information > calendar of events > news > links, etc but we're trying to keep the memberlist info private.

How do I make the newbb module so it uses flat mode for all users by default as opposed threaded mode? After I click flat, when I return to that section it's back in threaded mode again.

For some reason when I click the FAQ button in the navigation menu it doesn't display the FAQ. However when I'm in the administration menu I can see all the categories and questions I've added to the FAQ module. I get the following error when I try to update my FAQ module.
