but i can't find shoutbox file at /upload directory,I'm using XOOPS 2.0.14 version.my shoutbox is located at ./modules/shoutbox directory.plse advise & what mode to change ( 755 or 777 ).note :my hosting company turn off global off. is there impact on shoutbox don't show any text i type & didn't appear smilely..?

xoops module - addresses - how to modify 'map' url ( for version 1.7 )

Hi All Master,

Anyone can help me this questoin : how to modify the 'map' address. eg. defaul is ...yahoo...map, if want to change it to just purely 'can.com.sg', how to do it?which addresses file need to modify/change. I no need to let addresses module to auto 'link' user to show them the 'correct' addresses/map, but just link them ( when they click 'map' icon to 'can.com.sg' will do.

Plse advise/help.

Hi Friend,

Can anyone advise which module can function at 2.0.14( or 13 ) but cannot function ( not working ) at 2.2.3 ? As I currently use 2.2.3 in case if I need to upgrade/download to 2.0.14, feel a bit pain ! ( I guess some of your did feel that too... ).
Currently,What I know those module cannot function well(not working) in 2.2.3 is 'counter', other than that, seem like the rest is pretty function well ?

* note : is it a need to change it to 2.0.13 ( as in this forum, it say to be more stable version, but what is the different ?

Hi Friend,

Plse advise as when I log in to admin, there is a option for authenticating setting ( ldap, set ldap directory, port number, server name ), and there had 3 type of authentication : XOOPS database, std ldap direcotry , microsoft active ... ?

I'm confuse plse advise how to set ?

And there are 3 type of debug mode on : inline mode, popup mode, smarty template Debug, plse advise which one I shall choose ?

Just execute installation process, but my window xp prompt me a lot of following example :

Hi All Friend,

Plse advise if I do a total fresh ( not upgrade nor any dbase need to be upgrade at all ) install, what is the step, I'd read the xoops-2.0.14/release_note.txt, it only show as follow :

Installing XOOPS

1. Copy the content of the htdocs/ folder where it can be accessed by your server
2. Ensure mainfile.php, cache, templates_c and uploads are writable by the webserver
3. Access the folder where you installed the htdocs/ files using your web browser to launch the installation wizard

Question :
It's means just move the htdocs all file back ( ../ ) to root folder, and the question is when execute installation, i should usehttp://mydomain.com/ orhttp://mydomain.com/upgrade ? if i use the first method :http://mydomain.com to install this ver ( 2.0.14 ), after that do I need to run the upgrade again, and do I need to remove all content of upgrage folder after upgrade ? and do I need to remove xoops_md5.php & xoops_md5 also ?

Hi Everyone,

Would appreciate is there anyway to 'block/disable' user upload their own game from their PC.As I'm worry that it's security issues,they might upload 'game/jpg' with virus to my web site.

Hope any expert can enlighten us. like which setting to 'block' it. ( but of course only allow webmaster to uplad game only, and those funtion like post comment,vote etc should be allow register to post / comment.

Which Xoops 2 Version is less bug/install module problem?

Hi all master,

Would appreciate is there anyone can enlighten us ( newbie ) that which xoop2 version is better ( less bug & less bug in most of the modules installation ).

Anyway, Currently I installed the version 2.2.3 but seem like some module eg. pnflashgame etc encounter problem.

Can anyone advise which version is better?
Version 2.0.10 ?,
2.0.11 ?,2.0.12 ?,2.0.13 or2.2.0 ?2.2.1 ?2.2.2 ?2.2.3 ?
Hope the XOOPS owner don't mind as currently seem like too much version & we're quite tire to keep on upgrading the XOOPS version but one sincere word from my heart( I believed that most of the XOOPS lover too ),you did very well already. without you, we even can't get a free but powerful cms like XOOPS to do such a fantastic interative web site. thanks a lot to you!!!!!keep it up.YOU have my support!
