Hi All,

Many unskilled users find the image manager too complex. Many stuck after uploading the image.

A few enhancements would be nice:

1. Put newly uploaded pictures at the top in the image list (reverse the sort procedure)
2. Change the 3 align buttons into a drop-downbox
3. Add a button saying something like "Insert image"
4. Place the dropdown box and button somewhere beneath the picture in stead of at the right (mostly hidden because the window is too small).
5. Let them first choose a file, after this, update the name for the picture (text box) to the name of the file.
6. If it is huge (ex. above 640x480 which is not likely to be used normally within a news message) show the user the option to scale it down to a more reasonable size.

Good luck!

Mathijs.

Hi All,

It worked before, but now if I upload a picture with the image manager, I see it afterwards, it also let me insert the link, but nothing shows up within the message.

If I close it, re-open it, everything goes well.

Any ideas, because it did worked ?

Hi All,

The notification part is too complex for most users. Why not integrate all posible settings within the user menu ?

At this moment there is "Notification" submenu under the "User Menu", but that shows me all notification which are active for me. I need to set it up through the website, everywhere hitting the "notification box".

Why not centralizing all notifications, so setup & active ones, to the User Menu. And... simplifying it by giving me options at a global level switching on or off the notification per module.

If I wish, I drill down one level deeper, where I shutdown notification per item (ex. sections).

This makes it faster for me to use, less "Notification menu"'s needed throughout the website and setup is easier.

Hi,

I would like to see some feature checking my weblinks for existence. So, for example, if a website did not react (no DNS, error 404, error 500) within a month, remove the link (or set it as "broken link".

The settings for this (also the crontab of course) must be integrated within the admin interface.

Newsheader, yes or no ?

Hi,

Looks like a strange feature request.Let's explain it.

I wrote some scripts importing news from other sites. Nothing special. But... I like to show a oneliner with the source of the article. Nothing special, but..

Most articles have their bodies and header split up, and doing so, makes reading the full article strange, because somewhere half down the article, there is my...."oneliner".

I do think this is not only my problem, so, a solution could be:

1. Adding a field/area between header/body (naahhhh..)
2. Give me an option for every news article to show the header when reading the full article or not. This gives me the ability to publish the full header again in the body, without....the "oneliner".
3. ?????

best wishes,

Mathijs.

Hi,

I get complaints like: "My posted article is gone..."

In fact this has more to do with the ability of the user. He overlooked the numbers at the bottom of the screen, navigating through the other pages available.

I "hacked" some text in front of the numbers, but it looks like a good idea to me making 2 fields (one in front, the other right from the pagenumbers) available to the administrator. Both standard filled in with text from the language file, with the possibility to change te text somewhere in the amdmin section.

Mathijs.

Dear all,

I would like to see something like openwebmail.org being integrated, including functionality for creating mailaccounts.

This gives me the option to easily create full e-mail functionality (webmail and pop/imap) to my users.

More in a process style: If someone creates a username it could create (depending on the settings) an e-mail account (webmail only or webmail & pop depending on the group settings where the user belongs to) a well. After (automatic or manually) the useraccount is activated, he's able to use webmail and/or pop/imap.

I would LOVE this

Dear all,

If writing news, you only get one area to write your news, if you edit news it show the header and the the rest of the story in 2 different areas.

I would suggest adding an option to make this "split" screen available as well at the moment a user writes its news.

website links / screenshots

Dear all,

A nice-to-have would be to make it possible adding and uploading screenshots to weblinks directly during the first form fill in (also by users).

It would even better if you could make use of "convert" (ImageMagick package) to resize the picture down to a preset resolution.

At this moment this lovely feature adding screenshots to weblinks is not that easy to use. I wrote a script myself to resize pictures and what so ever to make live a bit easier, but it still is difficult for remote users.

Good luck!

Dear developers,

I discovered a few bugs when making use of adding screenshots to links (links module).

* If one edits a link after some requested for a discription change, the screenshot is gone. Reporting it as a broken link and re-attach the screenshot will do the job.

Thanks for all of your work!
