XOOPS 2.2.3 Final (2005 era)

Hi I need to know about upgrading this version of XOOPS from 2005

My hosting is changing php versions and this version will not work, and I need to upgrade to another version. is this possible.?

second, i really can build the site again quickly, and I was thinking I really only want to save the database for the module RSSC (Happy Linux) because there is a lot of feeds stored in this section. I could reload that part of the database and reinstall RSSC on the new XOOPS system, this could work also...??

any suggestions, i dont really want to start the whole site over, if i can get this upgraded would be better for me...

I have a couple other XOOPS sites also, one running the XOOPS 2.3.3 and it works great when he changed the PHP, the two older sites.. the one running XOOPS 2.2.3 final (2005) and one running XOOPS 2.0.15 dont work when he changed the PHP version, currently the PHP version is 5.2.12 and they run good, but in 1 month this will be changed and I will have to get the sites upgraded... any help would be great on updating these 2 older versions, they are non-edited versions, running a lot of blocks, and a few modules..

I use rsscenter and its a great module.

Once you set up the feeds, you have to go to


COMMAND MANAGMENT

Create Config File

Test to execute bin/refresh.php

Do a execute bin/refresh.php to grab new headlines

or

I set up a cron job that does this all for me on my server.
Setting a cron job will pull the data at whatever times you set it to do this.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I hope some of these modules can be released soon. I have a few websites and I need to have my stores as modules.

A working XOOPS store with credit card payment gateways would be amazing.

And the new "xstore" that was listed in the NEWS SECTION looks awsome for an amazon module for xoops. - When it's released ...hint...hint

I have been using XOOPS for over 1 year and its great, amazing and all that.. just need some module like xstore and a working cart module..i dont feel like switching my system because I love xoops....

any info to other solutions would be great until these modules can be released.

Hi

Im building a new site to sell DVD's and I was wondering what is the best module to run with xoops, so I can have credit card payment and shopping cart.

I tried OScommerce for XOOPS but does not seem to work. Im having bug problems with that module and nobody seems to answer questions on their website.

What is the easiest solution to use XOOPS an a shopping cart so people can buy directly from my site.

I use this little script before called framebrowser to get another script to come up in xoops, I dont use it anymore but this is the link that would make it run the scipt and it would come up within xoops.

You could try this module...Media Show

I have it playing video files on my front page. I never used the audio block, but you should be able to upload some type of music files to the Audio Directory and play them from this module. Make sure you enable the audio block and set your group permissions...

Hi

I had a the same problem, and with the password I could not login.

If you have Invision Power Board installed you will have to update.
IPB Here

I fixed mine by uninstalling IPB (because I was not using it.) re-uploaded all the original files that IPB had modified. Then I applied the 2.0.6 patch and everything was back to normal. If you want to continue use of IPB then upgrade.

If you dont have IPB installed it might be another module you have installed. Im kinda new to XOOPS myself, but thats how I fixed my prob.

There is a 2 modules available for flash games for xoops. Not sure if they can be downloaded here, but I found them through this site. Do a search here, you should be able to find them.

Hi I have been working on a video game blog / store site.

We use the RSS for gaming news on front page. And gather reviews from around.

Im going to add some game servers in the near future. So people can play Unreal Tournament 2004 or some other cool online games. For Game news check us out.

Here is a link to download the module.
You will have to edit the files to put your own
tv stations or shows.

There are some other modules doing the same thing... this module has no admin and you must edit the files and put your own file names.

Anyways, thats all I can say about the module, I got it displaying a few game trailers at the moment, but you could make your own video files and display them with this inside of xoops.
