That's very kind of you to offer, and may take you up on the offer. However, I have come accross the 'MyAlbum Module' which may be sufficient. It allows a user to upload a picture, add a description, and allocate it to a pre-set category, which, in my case, will be my breeds of dog.

So a user will be able to upload a picture of their collie, for example, and say 'My collie was lost in such a place at such a time and he looks like this' as the description, and then upload a picture from their PC.

It's not perfect, but it will do.

If it doesn't prove to be worhtwhile I'll get in touuch with you again. Once again, thanks for the offer. You are a gentlemen.

Ok, I've changed the theme back to the default one. I clicked on the missing picture to look at the path, and it said it was www.lost-doggies.com/modules/BBphp - i.e. the path of the forum module.

I thought 'well that's odd', so changed by first screen back from forum which I had set it to, to the default screen and chanhed the path agagin. This time the path to the missing file was just www.lost-doggies.com. In other words, it was changing where it was looking for the file depending on how I'd got my modules etc set up and where in the site I was looking. When I copied the file to the root of my site, and refreshed the display, it appeared. It would stay there for all of the links whose files site in the root (so View Account, Edit Account etc) but as soon as I click on a module link, like the forum, it dissapears again.

So clearly I am missing something. I thought that the graphic would be called from where ever it is originally called from? How do I tell XOOPS to use one file for the logo all the time? I did it originally I think but can't remeber how and can't find the setting now. Maybe once I've corrected that I can go back and carry on trying to get this top title graphic working in place of the banners!!

Dam. It's all gone wrong! I'm rubbish at this!

I tried what was suggested, but nothing changed, despite me refreshing the cache and ensuring the 'updates after changes' thing was set in my preferences page.

I tried various other things (just guessing really), and now its worse than before. I can't get it to show the logo that I had chosen earlier and it never did show my title logo in place of the banners.

I need to put it back to its original state, I think by downloading the theme again and installing it, but if I do that will my forum get overwritten? I think it will.

If anyone has the heart to reply then thanks - but I think I'm best giving this up as a bad job!

Yes, it does, but I don't think I can acces my root folders from there. I can access things like e-mail, domain settings, phpMyAdmin etc. To access the actual files I have to start an FTP link using Dreamweaver.

I assume that what you are getting at is that I need to access the file theme.html located in the folder of the theme I am using and change the code as you describe, and most importantly placing my logo file name in the bit :
src="youbannerurlhere"></TD>. ???

Ok, fallen at the first hurdle again!!

"Go to your Cpanel
Find your themes folder"

All I have showing in my control panel is System Admin, Forum and Links, because so far they are the only enabled modules. I can't find the 'themes folder'. I have no idea how to access it via the Control Panel. Is it part of another link? Have I misunderstood? Do you mean access the site using FTP and find the Theme's folder that way, then open the theme.html file?

Can anyone tell me how to easily place my own site logo in place of the current banners on my site?

I have a little logo sorted and uplodaed that's gone in place of the XOOPS logo and the left, and that works OK. But I want to fill all the space at the top where banners currently display, with a graphical version of my site name that I've made with CorelDRAW, because currently it's just empty. I don't want to add a flash graphic, or anything fancy.

Can anyone help?

If I were to offer, say £100, would anyone offer to make this for me? Its for a charitable site and I haven't got loads of cash myself, so can't offer any more than that. But if anyone had some free time?

Sorted it.

If anyone else gets this problem, then try the following :

Open the index.php file located in the modules\mydownloads folder. Find the script where it says :

foreach($arr as $ele){
another line or two
if($chcount>5){ -This is the no of categories shown
$subcategories ....

Change the value to the amount you want listing. I increased it to 100 and heypresto.

Hi

Please can someone help me?

We have a very large list of categories in our Downloads module - around 50. I have one main category and then about 50 sub catergories that belong to it. However, when I go to the Downloads page from the main menu it only list the first 5 or 6, and then finishes it off with '...' as opposed to listing all the categories.

Is there a way round this? Its very urgent. Please help because otherwise my manager wants us to use PostNuke (which I don't want!)
