If you are trying to edit the Main Menu block from the Default Template then you can not do it. This is sort of a safety feature for the XOOPS core etc (as far as I can tell). But here is how you can do it:

You have to Clone the Default Template first giving it a new name of your choice.

Then you have to set the one you just cloned with the new name as your Default Template in the Administration "General Preferences".

You should see a drop down for setting the the template. It should have Default and also the name of the New Template you just cloned and named.

Choose the new one and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Go.

Now go back to your Administration, Sytem, Templates and click on the "list" for the new Template set you made. You should be able to edit the Main Menu block now.

Hope this helps.

Hmmmm. I can't recall if that version had the site info block available in blocks administration or not.

Go to your administration, blocks, and see if it is available for adding (add blocks) to your current active blocks. If it is add it and set it for visible and the page to be visible on, then check it out. The name Site Info is a little mis-leading. It is actually a Recommend Us type block which allows not only YOU but your users to send an email to their friends Recommending your Site with a link to it as well.

Happy Xooping!

I'm not sure what version of XOOPS you are running but at present I am using V2.2.4. There is a Site Info block which is part of the blocks administration which may be what you are looking for. You can modify the template to match your site or theme.

Did you also ensure in your Blocks Administration that the Page or Pages you want it to show up on are also checked? If you do not select the page and or page in modules you want it to show up on then it will not show up. Even if it is set to visible.

Hope this helps.

Ha Ha Ha!

If this was meant to be funny or otherwise. It was, thanks for the chuckle...

If not, then I thinks what he means is-since it is in Alpha the developement team is working hard and diligently to produce a XOOPS version which breaks the barriers of other previously released versions. And that the folders/directories at this time which seem to have no function don't at this time because they are still working on the developement of the new version.

How do I know which modules...

I am using XOOPS v2.2.4. I am ready to add a few more modules to my site and was wondering if anyone could tell me... How exactly do I know which module will work with v2.2.4. I know that some say it specifically but a laaarge majority of modules don't say, or they have 2.X.X etc. etc. Additionally, after browsing modules and spending much time doing this I download the one(s) I would like to use and there are NO instructions anywhere, in any of the folders. Sometimes when you do find a readme file etc it may provide some vague install instructs, or it may be only a list of changes and no operating instructions whatsoever for the module.
Don't get me wrong! I am not meaning to complain. Only trying to explain my frustrations. Am I missing something? Is it always, will it always be so trial and error?
So. Maybe if I could at least know or someone could give me an accurate clue of how to know which modules actually coinside (work) with the version I am using it would save time. Then I will deal with the operating instructions via other ways provided on this great site.

Thanks

You can't use smarty tags in custom block which is html. I believe they only work in the template files and theme. There may be a way to use PHP to use the smarty tags. You can find more information on it by searching using Custom Blocks.

Could someone please help me with this?

Please note that the RSS time in ROOT/language/english/local.php has been changed to take into account the time zone. You might want to change your own language file to fix the same bug.

What does this mean? What does it do? Why might I want to change it? How exactly do I change it?

Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
