Sorry Mario, but I fail to see the relevance of your post.
Possibly you wanted to make a new topic ?

Does anyone else have a good/great suggestion ??

Lazybadger,

This is really great thinking !!!
Using your technique it can be quite easy to create themes with more than the 5 "normal" block locations. I hope this will lead to themes with a slightly less uniform look.

great work !

Hello,

When you view a users account a list is shown of activities on the website.
In my case I can see all the news that person has posted, messages to the forums etc. etc.

What do I have to do to get my module to do the same ?
I have allready got the comments and search features running but would also like to be able to select an user account and view the activities for the module I am writing.

Can anyone point me towards some documentation on this part of XOOPS or do I need to run through the code of modules which already have this feature ??

Kind regards,

Highlander

great question !

try the following : & #91; and & #93;

Without the spaces between the & and # sign. this will produse a [ and a ] sign.

Why not uninstall the contact us module and use Liase to build a new contact us form.

Try clicking "Edit" on the recent news block in the blocks admin. and play about with the options.
I run News 1.3 and I can get the same look; so I am sure 1.4 can do this also.

Hi All,

I believe the idea of paid development is a good one in general.
I am also certain their are many more Xoopsers out there that can develop a module, theme, hack etc than we see around us now. (I can code a very little myself)
However quite a few people like myself have hardly got the time and for me it wouldn't make any difference if I got paid or not.
I still just wouldn't have the time

Also the "good" developers in XOOPS land (I mean this well) might mainly start to work on paid projects for customers and less on community modules and hacks. Or don't you think this is a possibility ?

Perhaps it is an option to develop modules for paying customers (i'd pay!) and release them after maybe 6/12 months to the community...This way the customer gets his module as a custom job and then when all the bugs are gone we can all enjoy the hard work.

To lighten the load it might also be an option to have projects customers can sign up for. That way they can split the cost between them or combine their funds and make a better module.

Lots to think about anyway.

Kind regards, Highlander

p.s. The site looks great Lance_

SLEO577,

Dont comment out line 21 like in Pnooka's code. You will receive alot more errors than you are getting now.

You could comment this lines, like this.

//$language = $xoopsConfig['language'];

Since the XOOPS core finds module specific languages within the module structure.

Pnooka,
The line you want to comment out is the module asking the core which language is default and then looking for a folder with that name.

If you want to fix this by adding // in front of lines you would have to comment out lines 16, 18, 19, 20 and 22.
The module should then work without errors but only in english. (you could offcourse change "english" into your default langauge!!) (line 21)

The part which is giving you trouble is the module asking XOOPS about the default language. And there should be a better fix then just taking this question out of the code. I believe I have seen other modules request the default langauge the same way. Will the all give errors on 2.2 ???

What are the differences betwee coppermin 1.1 (xcgal) and 1.33 or 1.4 ??

Coppermine is a great piece of software and in the form of xcgal works really well with Xoops.
