Re: This is what I need to do....

Because for simpliest cases (counteable amount of static pages and nothing more) any CMS give unwanted overhead and nothing useful, decrease flexibility of solution (maybe I'm lame stupid, but I have some troubles on converting site design to Xoops... Some, not critical, but... )

I would like to turn this site:

into a CMS system. I have played with XOOPS for a few days, but it doesn't seem like the right tool for this job.

Well, I saw at site and think, it's not a big deal...
It will require some work, but I (peronally) can't see something impossible to reproduce in XOOPS
You have to write theme , work with templates, kill most of defalt XOOPS modules, but
MultiMenu + (any content manager here) + Liase + (forgot something?) will do the trick, IMHO

One question (unrelated) - why do you want use CMS for site, and which betefints you wait from any CMS? Site seems as "mostly static" from my POV and not such huge in order to have "manageability problems"...
But I can see in totally wrong direction

Re: Is it possible to modify the language structure to fit

For me - gettext() and po-files is more power, easy, wide and elegant solution.
It simplified translation process and eliminates damned "translations update" hell after releasing new version of module with changes in text-constants

Mantis 0.19 Module

Can anybody have interest to continue support of Mantis Module?
Last XOOPS module was adopted from 0.18.3, current 0.19.x have some great improvements over 0.18

And I'm stupid to do it only by own hands

Re: Newbb Timestamp settings

It can be error somewhere (it's always possible), but I think, we can catch it more precisely... Why? Because I think, it can appear only if client and server TZ have different signs.
I wrote from TZ GMT+0500 message on server, which live (I know it) in TZ GMT+0300 and I see message timestamp in my local time

Add-on - this message have "some minutes" drift only from my time, but I don't know TZ of xoops.org

Re: How do you get www2.somesite.com or www3.somesite.com?

If you want to resolve any non-existent hostname in your domain into single host you have to write in zone definition something like

www IN A 1.2.3.4
* IN CNAME www

XOOPS doesn't allow direct access to admin area, you have to be registered on site first

after login to your site typehttp://yoursite.com/admin.php instantly

Or simply have visible User-Menu block for registered users, in which users with admin's privileges have "Administration" link (to the same .../admin.php URL).
