Nevermind, I'm a dummy. It was listed in the readme file all of the files that needed the permissions changed to 777
I must have overlooked it the first time. Sorry

Ok, after installing this module,I noticed that I couldn't change the ratings categories in the module's admin area without first chmoding the catconfig.php file to 777 wich it said nothing about doing in the readme file.

Now I am trying to change the settings in the "General Settings" area of the module's admin area and It will not let me change those settings either? So I know this is another permissions issue but I have no idea what file needs to be chmoded to 777 now to get this to work?

Does anybody know?

I still couldn't get it to install again. I probably did something in the wrong ordwer the first time I uninstalled it? It was a while ago so I don't remember now.

Anyways, I just downloaded and installed xoopopchat and I am much happier with this chatroom anyways.

Double installation?

OK, I believe this may be a database issue?

I am trying to install the xoopschat module again because of the upgraded version released, but I made the mistake of deleting the old version of xoopschat off of my server completely. Now when I try to install the new version of xoopschat I get this error message:

"Installing XOOPS Chat

Table 'xoops_myxoopschat_messages' already exists

Unable to install xoopschat. Error(s):
Back to Module Administration page"

Can anybody tell me what I have to do to fix this and install this module?

Hi all,

I just installed this module on my site and it seems real cool. I am just a bit confused about the categories, sections, levels, pages and such. This an advanced News type module. If any of you use it, and are handy with it could you please help explain to me exactly how all of the diferent categories and such go together?

Moderator Privileges?

When usin "Edit User" in System admin, what special permissions does it give users if you set their rank to moderator?

Is that just for the forums, or does that give them permissions to edit other modules on your XOOPS site as well?

I am asking this because I noticed that there is not a default group created for moderators in the "Groups" section of the system Admin.

I want to create forum moderators, but I don't want them to have access to amy other of the site's modules.

I know that I can do this in "groups" section, but I would like my forum mods to have the moderator stars (images) next to their avatars on the forums. Is the moderator Rank in "Edit User" just for cosmetic appeal, or are there real privileges that go along with the rank?

Re: xoops is so user friendly, can anyone do a comparision with Geeklog

xoops is the best cms I have ever used and I am staying with it. You can do so much more with an xoop's site than you can do with php-nuke, geeklog, phpwebsite, and all of the other ones out there.

I have tried them all too and now I have found my home.

If you need any help with installing a module/plugin , or anything else just let me know jg123, and I will walk you through it.

Cjay Content 3 errors

Hi,

I just installed Cjay Content 3 on my XOOPS site and when I try to go to the editor I get an error message saying that some files/directories need to be chmod to 777.

Do any of you know what files I have to chmod to 777 to get Cjay Content 3 up and running on my XOOPS site.

I can't believe their wasn't a readme file with instructions included with this download if you have to change file permissions in order to get the module working?
